John Van Hamersveld's contributions as an illustrator and graphic designer, have left an indelible mark on the world of art, music and surf culture. His iconic designs and ability to embrace evolving trends and technologies continues to captivate audiences earning him a well-deserved place in art history. Much like his enthusiasm to create art from the first Apple computer prototype Steve Jobs had him test run, AI image creation has become the latest expansion to his creative repertoire.
These pieces were all created individually with great care. Using references and inspiration from John’s body of album cover artwork, images were fed into AI for a first round of interpretation. The complex algorithms then output a visual idea or sketch (much like a concept artist would) then aspects of the output that are interesting are isolated and fed back. On many occasions two or more of these outputs would be fed to AI and combined which explores the algorithms capability of interpreting and combining the assets, this would result in some truly surreal compositions. This iterative process could be repeated until John felt the piece was ready.
As John and AI get to know each other and build a pseudo-collaborative partnership, an exciting story unfolds and marks an incredible chapter in John's legacy as an innovative artist.

Coldie is a mixed media artist whose stereoscopic 3D art has been featured in national juried art exhibitions in the United States, cryptocurrency events across the world, international press including New York Times and Channel 4 London, as well as major auction house exhibitions by Sotheby’s (New York) and Bonhams ( London).
An early crypto artist who began creating crypto art in 2017 and tokenized artworks in 2018, his blockchain-themed artwork including the 'Decentral Eyes' portrait series gives a personalized visual representation of the disruptive industry. Coldie has established himself as a thought leader, collector, and curator in the NFT art community.
Coldie onboarded John Van Hamersveld to tokenized art in 2020 after meeting thru Shelley Leopold and Kitty Bungalow's 'Buy Art Save Kittens'. Since then Coldie has collaborated with Van Hamersveld including their ASYNC collaboration "The Unfolding Dream" which sold at Bonham's London for $150k+ (https://www.bonhams.com/auction/27505/coldie-x-john-van-hamersveld-the-unfolding-dream-in-partnership-with-async/).
Coldie has produced successful drops for Van Hamersveld on SuperRare, ASYNC, Nifty Gateways, and Makers Place, collected by many of the most respected collectors in the space including Batsoupyum and Basileus and Matt Kane.
